Don't be scared

Batman and Robin will protect you this Halloween.
Heather found Micah's costume at a roadside clothing store, and she created the "Robin" shirt to accompany Asher's brother's outfit. Our school has a carnival before Halloween each year, and the kids dress up, play games, and eat the candy and sweets the staff and student council donates. Fun night. Heather even got me to almost kind-of sort-of dress up as Super-dad.
No, you don't need to adjust the colors on your screen. Those pumpkins aren't orange.

HiDef Murphy Vids

All right, enough of this low-res, 10 second long stuff. You deserve some high quality videos. Thanks to my friends Greg, Matt, and Robyn for getting these on the web.

It's a jungle out there

I'm on Amazon. Pretty crazy.

If you'd rather buy it directly from the publisher (it's cheaper that way), you can buy it on his site (fatherspress.com) or email him personally. He'll give a nice discount for multiple book orders if you're looking to start your Xmas shopping early. :)

Quick excuses

I haven't written in a while, but midterm break (a three day weekend where kids get off campus and staff have no responsibilities) began five hours ago so I'm doing it.

--My book is not officially "in print." If you'd like a book and think you'll see us during the holidays when we're in the U.S., we should have some on hand. If you can't wait that long, you can check here in the next week http://fatherspress.com/ and order one. I'll let you know when it's available on Amazon and Google as well.

--We visited a tribe in the valley (the Great Rift Valley) last weekend. Although we didn't do much work for them, it was nice to build relationships and plant seeds for the future. Asher's hands were full of exploration, as you can see in the picture.

--We're gearing up for next week's big events. Heather is the chairwoman of Multicultural Day, an all-school event celebrating our diversity and God's love for all people, tribes, and tongues. She's already put in long nights organizing and there's still much to do. I'm leading a student team for worship for Spiritual Emphasis Week (Wednesday thru Sunday), and it's going to mean about 30 extra hours of work for me to plan, practice, and lead these services.

--I usually don't do this with my blog, but I must this time. Our band director at RVA postponed his year of home assignment in 2006 because there was no one to do his job. Now, he has postponed for three more months until Dec. 2007, but in just two months he will be gone. We have no one qualified to teach these important classes, and it's the eleventh hour. Please pray that someone will be called and will obey to come teach band at RVA from January 2008 until July 2008.
