This month's highlights
As we get ready to close school on Saturday, I realized that it's been a while since I've posted anything. Real quickly, here are pictures of the highlights from this month for me. First off, my friend Earnest was married. His home church is five hours away, so it was a lot of traveling. But very worth it. Secondly, my eldest son turned five on Sunday. Here he is bashing his Spiderman pinata. and here I am trying not to get my arms bashed by a bunch of kids with sticks.

First five podcasts are available

In early February, I launched my first podcast. Episodes 1-5 feature me reading excerpts from my book and are all available now through iTunes or RSS. If you've been waiting for the conclusion of the book, now's the time. The next episode will feature new material and should be released around the end of the month. I hope you enjoy the book samples, and I hope you like the programming I have in store for you.
Here's a recap.
Episode 1--How did you wind up in Africa?
Episode 2--First impressions of our new home
Episode 3--Missing our old home
Episode 4--AIDS, poverty, drought, and sickness
Episode 5--Wrapping up the year, reflecting on our real "home"

It happened

Well, a little fatherhood milestone this week...
My four year old Micah said, "Dad, I want to be a basketball coach when I grow up." I guess he thinks running around in the sun yelling at teenagers looks pretty appealing. Seriously though...another reminder that everything I do is being watched. When Micah told me that, his little buddy was there too, and he said he wanted to be a "weight-wifter" when he grows up. His dad's hobby is body-building and so he's taking after the old man too.
On the Asher front, we finally got around to having his party this week (can you guess the theme from the picture?). His new development for the week is asking the question, "Why?" after everything we tell him. He doesn't really expect an answer or have any clue what he's saying...but he hears his brother doing it constantly so--hey, why not?
